Spiritual Mamas, Witchy Mamas, Witchy curious Mamas, or Mamas who just want an alternative to Halloween 'Trick or Treating'...
I invite you to join me for a traditional Samhain Gathering at my home 🎃
Celebrate the Celtic root of Halloween with a special event honouring the end of Harvest and the beginning of Winter. Remember who we are, where we came from and those who have passed.
I'm not particularly keen on sending my daughter out to 'trick or treat':
1. I don't want the mass of sugar and who has vegan sweets waiting?
2. Our road doesn't feel like the Close I lived in growing, it's not really a community.
3. Because knocking on strangers doors asking for treats, juts feel a bit ick.
4. Halloween to me has become one big commercialised gimic and actually, for the past 5 years, I've been feeling much more aligned with it's traditional pagan roots - Samhain.
Samhain (pronounces Sow-ein) is a pivotal point on the Celtic wheel of the Year. Known as the Autumn Cross Quarter Festival, it's the end of Autumn, end of the harvest, and beginning of Winter. It's a time of death and decay in nature, a time to get cosy and go inwards for us, and it is said to be a time when the veil between the seen and the unseen world is thinner.
This year I'm once again gathering local like-minded Mamas and their children together, to connect and explore ritual, ceremony and play.
There will be:
- Cacao Ceremony for Mamas
- Fire Ceremony & Dancing
- Vegan/GF Warm Food
- Children's Free Play & Samhain Craft Activities
- Toasted Vegan Marshmallows
Children of all ages welcome (babies included). I'll be serving hot food which they can eat too, but you can also bring their dinner if you like. You can stay for as long or as little as works for you.
Costumes welcome if you fancy.
Bring a photo or object to remember anyone (person or pet) who has passed, to place on our altar.
Friday, 31st October | 4-6:30pm | Folkestone
£30 per adult (16+), children (under 16) free.
Spaces limited.
